I am convinced that I am getting all of my bad karma out of the way for the season, all at once. Unfortunately, I caught a cold the day before races began so I decided to do the smart thing and sit out. As much as it kills me not to race, I knew racing with a cold in brutally cold weather would not be the right thing to do. I did have a fun time watching my teammates and friends race really well! My bad karma continued with loosing my voice. The past two days, my voice has practically been gone, making my voice sound really funny when I try to talk. It was pretty amusing at first, but now it is brutal because I have to hold back whenever I want to comment on anything or talk. I was listening to a podcast on our long drive from West Yellowstone, Montana to Sun Valley, Idaho and it mentioned a man who did not speak for 17 years; I can’t even last a day! Anyway, I still had a lot of fun the past week. I received my Christmas present early, a really awesome camera, so I was able to play around with it a bit this week!
